Who we are

Answer Intent (Pty) Ltd is a South African AEO and GEO agency founded by Cameron Duncan and registered in South Africa. We help founder-led businesses become cited in AI-generated answers through schema markup, LLMS.txt files, and AI-extractable content.

As the party responsible for how your personal information is handled, Answer Intent (Pty) Ltd is the Responsible Party under POPIA. The Information Officer is Cameron Duncan, reachable at answered@answerintent.com.

This privacy policy applies to all personal information collected through the answerintent.com website, the contact form, and email correspondence with Answer Intent.

Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to respond to your enquiry or deliver your engagement.

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, business website or domain, selected package interest, and any optional message you include. Collected when you submit the form at answerintent.com/contact/.
  • Email correspondence: any personal information contained in emails you send to answered@answerintent.com, including your name, business details, and the content of your message.
  • Website analytics: anonymised data including pages visited, device type, approximate country, referrer URL, and time on page. Collected via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. This data does not identify you personally and is aggregated for site improvement only.
  • Client engagement data: if you proceed with a paid engagement, additional information required to deliver the work (such as your business registration details and invoicing information) is collected separately and governed by your signed engagement agreement.
We do not collect sensitive personal information (health records, financial account numbers, race, religion, or political views) and we do not collect information from children under 18.

Why we collect it

Every piece of information we collect has a specific purpose.

  • To respond to your enquiry within one business day, as stated on the contact page. Without your name and email we cannot reply.
  • To send you the material you requested, such as an audit report, proposal, or package summary.
  • To improve the website. Analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful and where the site can be improved. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymous.
  • To comply with South African business and tax law. If you become a client, we are required to retain invoicing records for a minimum of 7 years under the Tax Administration Act.
We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers or marketers, or use it for any purpose not listed here.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the third parties required to operate the website and deliver our services.

  • Formspree (formspree.io): processes contact form submissions and forwards them to answered@answerintent.com. Formspree acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Google (Analytics 4 and Tag Manager): processes anonymised website analytics data. Google acts as a data processor. Their privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Our accountants (C Consult Inc, South Africa): if you become a client and invoicing is required, invoicing data is shared with our accountants for record-keeping and tax compliance purposes only.
We do not share your personal information with any other party without your explicit consent. We do not use your information for advertising, retargeting, or any form of profiling.

Cookies and tracking

The answerintent.com website uses a small number of cookies to support analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking pixels of any kind.

  • Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies in your browser to track sessions and page views. This data is anonymised and aggregated. It does not identify you personally.
  • Google Tag Manager loads in your browser and manages the Analytics tag. No additional cookies are set by Tag Manager beyond those required by Analytics.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not run Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any equivalent tracking technology.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using the website or submitting the contact form. Basic site functionality does not depend on cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as necessary.

  • Contact form enquiries and email correspondence: retained for 24 months from your last interaction with Answer Intent, then deleted unless you have become a paying client.
  • Client engagement data (invoices, engagement agreements, delivery records): retained for 7 years from the end of the engagement, as required by South African tax law.
  • Website analytics data: retained for 14 months within Google Analytics (the default data retention setting). Anonymised aggregate reports may be retained indefinitely.
Cameron's review note: confirm the 24-month retention period for enquiries and the 7-year period for client records match your accountant's recommendation.
